Eonix is a research and engineering company in Kandy, Sri Lanka. We design, print, wire and code things, from field sensors to App Store apps, then put them to work. This journal is the record.
01 — Thesis · No handoffs
Most ideas die in the handoff: researcher to maker, maker to coder, lab to field. We don't hand off. Research, making and code happen under one roof, on one bench.

02 — Making

Step 01 · File
It starts as a file. Or a photo and two numbers.
Send an STL or CAD model. If you don't have one, send photos and dimensions and we'll design the part.
Step 02 · Print
Layer by layer, on our own farm.
We check the geometry, pick the material for what the part must survive, and quote before you pay anything.
Step 03 · Part
A finished part, not a print.
Fitted, quality-checked and shipped by tracked courier, island-wide or worldwide.

The problem
Field tools are built for farms nothing like ours.
Instruments that measure soil, water and climate are imported, expensive, and fail in tropical heat, monsoon humidity and power cuts.
What we're building
Low-cost nodes, engineered here.
Sensor nodes in printed ASA housings, designed around local crops, local weather and smallholder budgets. They'll be open and repairable.
