Research & Development

R&D that leaves the lab

Eonix is a research-and-engineering company in Kandy, Sri Lanka. We take problems from first question to working hardware and software — and publish as much of the journey as we can.

Research that
ships.

A lot of research and development never becomes anything you can hold or run. Ours has one rule: every thread must end in a shipped artefact — a release, a part, a device in someone's hands. That's what “we build what comes next” means in practice.

Our divisions are the proving grounds. Software research ships as open-source releases. Manufacturing research runs our 3D-printing farm. Field research is growing into our agri-tech division. Each one keeps the research honest — if it doesn't work in production, it isn't done.

Where we focus.

Four active research areas, each anchored to shipping products.

Embedded systems & on-device AI

EdgeLLM puts large language models to work from microcontrollers — Claude, GPT, Gemini and Ollama called straight from Arduino-class hardware, with sensors exposed back to models over MCP.

EdgeLLM

Additive manufacturing

Fleet orchestration, materials testing and print-farm operations — accelerate3d manages many printers with a smart queue, live telemetry and built-in slicing.

accelerate3d

Developer & infrastructure tooling

Pipe-Peek watches CI/CD pipelines from the macOS menu bar; PRESSH rethinks the self-hosted CMS with sandboxed, deny-by-default plugins.

Applied agri research

Affordable field sensing, farm data and automation for Sri Lankan agriculture — the research programme behind our 2026 agri-tech launch.

Agri-Tech

Proof,
not promises.

Our research history is public. PRESSH reached its first public release in May 2026; Pipe-Peek has shipped seventeen versions; EdgeLLM and accelerate3d are in active development — stars, forks, issues and all, on GitHub. The open-source section of our homepage tracks it live.

Have a product to prototype, a device that needs intelligence, or a process worth automating? We partner with businesses and institutions to take problems from idea to working system — research, engineering and manufacturing under one roof.

Have a problem worth researching?

Tell us what you're trying to build — we'll tell you honestly whether we can help ship it.
